WHO?

At the core of my being, I am not a husband, father, son, brother, pastor, worship leader, spiritual director, songwriter, or surfer…at the core of my being, I am in Christ (I Cor. 1:30-31).  It is from this simple but profound reality that I seek to respond to God’s various calls on my life.

I’m a graduate of Biola University’s MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care, and I have been trained in many facets of spiritual guidance, supervision of spiritual directors, and various retreat approaches including the Exercises of St. Ignatius.

I’ve been involved in ministry for over two decades, and have recently been the full-time pastor of Discipleship and Spiritual Formation at Commonwealth Chapel in Richmond, VA.  I also serve as a Spiritual Director for Richmond Hill Retreat Center, CRM International, and the Evangelical Center for Spiritual Wisdom.  Because of my background as a songwriter, recording artist, and worship leader, I have a unique heart for artists, musicians, and the creative community.  My passion is to walk alongside others as they discover their unique calling and freedom in Christ.  I’m a CA native, nature enthusiast, husband of 21 years, and father of four children, ages 11-18.
